Direct co-host payments launched over the summer of 2026: trip earnings now split automatically inside the Turo app between business partners, no manual spreadsheet, no separate transfer.

The specific friction this removes
Before this feature, one partner in a co-hosting arrangement received the full trip payout and then had to manually calculate the other partner's share and send it separately, on their own schedule, using their own math. Every step in that chain was a place for a delay, a disagreement, or a simple arithmetic mistake to creep in. The new flow moves the split into the same payment event as the payout itself.
What it does not do
It automates the transfer, not the agreement behind it. Two co-hosts still need their own clarity on who handles maintenance, who handles guest messages, who eats a claim if one comes in, and what happens if either side wants out. A cleaner payment rail makes a well-defined partnership run smoother. It does nothing for a partnership that never wrote its actual terms down in the first place.
Where this helps most, and where it doesn't go far enough
A single host splitting earnings with one trusted partner gets the full benefit immediately: the manual accounting step just disappears. An operation managing splits across several vehicle owners at once will likely still want a reporting layer beyond a simple earnings split, since owner statements typically need more context, itemized expenses, per-vehicle performance, than a flat percentage split can show on its own.
What's still coming, not yet live
Turo has flagged two related features as still in progress as of the Summer 2026 release: an Invoice Hub that tracks every invoice for a reservation in one place regardless of trip length, and automated earnings splits with revenue reporting specifically for vehicle owners and co-hosts in the passive-income hosting program, US only. Neither is live yet alongside direct co-host payments, but both are aimed at the exact same problem: getting money and paperwork between partners without anyone doing it by hand.
What to do with an existing manual arrangement today
Test the new split on your next trip alongside your existing manual process for one full cycle before retiring the spreadsheet entirely, just to confirm the automated numbers match what you'd have calculated by hand.
