93 cars, and no public API
Last time: what is your listing’s location? A promise. Keep it.
Now, one real Austin fleet: ninety-three cars, 404 trips last month, and about 97% of its trips last quarter booked on Turo. And Turo has no public API.
At that size, a spreadsheet breaks. So this lesson covers what Turo allows, the tools growing hosts use, and the line no tool should ever cross.
What Turo allows
As of October 2026, Turo lets hosts use certain outside tools. But if a tool breaks or stops working, Turo won’t help you troubleshoot it.
And its terms ban bots, systematically pulling data from its services, and collecting information about other users without their consent.
So the safe line is simple: let tools read your business, and leave the decisions to you.
What growing hosts use
Growing hosts use GPS on every car, a shared business phone, bookkeeping with a line for each car, toll tags, and an AI to write their systems. GPS still has to follow Turo’s tracking rules from lesson 4.6.
One host admits it: as the fleet got bigger, the per-car accounting got worse. That’s the trap lesson 1.5 warned about. A fleet total can look fine while single cars lose money.
| GPS | On every car |
| Phone | One shared business line |
| Bookkeeping | A line for each car |
| Toll tags | On every plate |
| AI | Turns your notes into written systems |
The app that runs Turo for you
An app promises to answer your Turo guests and change your Turo prices, all by itself. Sign up?
Skip it. A tool that runs Turo for you is a bot, and Turo’s terms ban them. Messages and prices stay human, inside Turo. If you want messages to go out on time, Turo’s own scheduled messages do that.
Let tools read. You decide.
So pick tools that read your business, and leave the decisions to you. That’s how RevHostHQ works.
Its browser extension copies your own Turo trips and cars while you’re signed in, and never changes anything on Turo. It’s an independent tool, not affiliated with Turo, so whether you use it is your call.
Then: every car’s profit, every month. Monthly statements for owners’ cars. TOM, the assistant, on the web, your phone or WhatsApp. And you can connect the AI you already use, free.
RevHostHQ is free for unlimited cars. PRO, which adds TOM and owner statements, starts at $6.99 a car a month.
| Reads your trips, cars and money | Let it read. You decide. |
| Answers guests or changes prices by itself | A bot. Drop it. |
Module 5, in seven rules
That’s Module 5. Sam runs a fleet, not a hobby. Here are the seven rules that got Sam there, the next pages of your Host Rulebook.
Module 6, going private, the right way, is coming next.
| 5.1 | Grow by profit per car, not by car count. |
| 5.2 | If it’s not written down, it’s not a system. |
| 5.3 | Give your helper access. Never your password. |
| 5.4 | Put the split in writing before the keys change hands. |
| 5.5 | Finance a car only if it pays the note in a slow month. |
| 5.6 | Your listing’s location is a promise. Keep it. |
| 5.7 | Let tools read. You decide. |
